Brenda Hogan

Brenda M. Hogan is Investment & Portfolio Manager with the Ontario Capital Growth Corporation (OCGC). OCGC manages the interest of the Government of Ontario in the $205 million Ontario Venture Capital Fund LP and manages and operates the Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund (OETF). The OETF is a $250 million fund that co-invests in innovative, high-growth, private, Ontario companies.
Brenda played a lead role in the development and implementation of the OETF. She is responsible for ongoing development and management of the investment portfolio as well as providing advice on investment strategy and policy. She was responsible for overseeing the development of OCGC’s inaugural business plan and at times has been responsible for the annual report, as well as overseeing the annual audit.
Prior to OCGC, she managed the Ministry of Research and Innovation’s $46 million Market Readiness Program, providing high-potential innovative companies in Ontario early-stage financial support and management expertise to help them get off the ground, and attract investment from other sources.
Before joining the public sector, Brenda spent her career in the private sector in corporate and business development, and finance with such companies as Bell Aliant and the Business Development Bank of Canada.
Brenda sits on the Board of Women in Capital Markets, the Geneva Centre for Autism, is Past President of the Junior League of Toronto, and is a founding member of the Royal Ontario Museum Young Patrons Circle. Brenda holds an MBA with a concentration in finance, and is a graduate of the Rotman School of Management SME Board Effectiveness Program and the Ivey Leadership Program.
