Mr. Brûlé was nominated, in December 2010, on the Board of Directors of the new Investissement Quebec (merger between SGF and
Investissement Québec). In November, he was awarded by NACO (National Angel Capital Organization) the recognition of Canada Angel Investor of the year 2010. Counting more than 35 years of professional activities, Mr. Brûlé has overlapped three successive career tracks. First, for near 20 years, he played important roles during the start-up years of the École de Technologie Supérieure (University of Québec) as a professor, a research lab. founder/manager and as dean of research activities. With some overlap, he started his business career track with the successive founding or co-founding of six technology-based companies, some of which relied on Venture Capital as early as 1987. OvalSys International inc. and InnoMediaLogic (IML) inc. were sold in 2000, IML’s transaction receiving the award of the “Best VC deal in Canada in 2000″.
Since year 2000, Mr. Brule retired from operational roles but maintained active in business start-ups by committing money and self-investment to promising ventures through M&M Investments. Currently, he serves on the Board of four companies, three of which he chairs:

- GSM Prjct Technology (Tower Visitors Viewing Platform; investing partners : FIER Longueuil and privates …)
- Cogiscan (SMT control platform; investing partners: Desjardins Capital and privates …)
- MetaFoam (Electronic Cooling Solutions; investing partners: BDC capital, ID Capital, iNovia Capital)
Mr. Brule is also a founding member of Capital Longueuil, a local VC fund, currently chairing their Investment Committee. He is an active member of Anges Québec, and serves as their Vice-Chairman. As an active Board member, he was instrumental to the sale of Boomerang (BMG :TSE) to Lojack (Nasdaq :LOJN) in October 2004.
